Bomel finishes parking garage at El Camino Community College

September, 2009

Anaheim Hills-based Bomel Construction Co. has finished a 1,230-stall parking garage for El Camino Community College in Torrance.

TORRANCE, Calif., July 6, 2009–––Chalk up another successful and early completion of a large parking structure by Bomel Construction Co., one of the largest concrete contractors in the United States.

In addition to finishing the 1,230-stall garage for El Camino Community College about three weeks early, Anaheim Hills, Calif.-based Bomel built a 10-court tennis complex and a softball field to replace existing facilities. It’s the school’s second parking structure.

“They did an outstanding job; they utilized time as well as possible,” said Tom Brown, the college’s assistant director of facilities. “They worked their schedule really well and were able to capture and solve any issue. And they always gave me a three-week schedule that anticipated critical paths.”

The six-level structure has brick veneer on all sides. It also has two detached glass-backed elevator cores. International Parking Design of Sherman Oaks, Calif., was the project architect.

Bomel’s team was led by Project Manager Kasey Shay and Project Superintendent Jeff Moye.
